How the Signature by Vicky logo was made

From the brief and a moodboard, through pencil sketches and the idea behind the mark, to colour and the logo out in the world.
01The brief
A tattoo studio run by the artist himself. The identity had to read like his own signature, and hold up in black on skin, stencil and storefront.

04The concept
V+Signature+Badge=Signature by Vicky
A V monogram written like a signature, set inside a round badge for the studio mark and beside a light, spaced wordmark for the artist's name. Black, white and grey only, like ink on skin.
